This is one of the diorama displayed in the Aceh Tsunami Museum in Banda Aceh. On the day, the people went out to gather abundant flapping fish on the beach once the sea level drastically dropped, not knowing it was a sign of a tsunami. This diorama showed how shocked they were when the huge wave suddenly attacked them on the plain. I particularly liked this one because it’s a reminder of how little we understand about potential disasters. It’s a great reminder of how Indonesia should take disaster management seriously since we do have them more often then other countries.
